Black Nugget – an Iron Meteorite?

Last year while gold panning in a Scottish burn I panned out a rather nice and extremely heavy black nugget. It feels like gold and is heavy enough to be gold, but it’s black. It weighs in at an astonishing 78 gms.

Been scratching my head for months over this thing and sent pictures to a few geologists to pore over. They’ve been helpful but the piece is just too heavy to be what most of them reckon it is. Anyway, today a geologist sent me a link to a website and I went along and well, well, it looks as if I may have a small iron meteorite here. How cool is that hey?

Tomb Raider Underworld Totally Rocks

If you haven’t played the latest Tomb Raider from Crystal Dynamics then I highly recommend you wander down to your games store or order it online and add this game to your collection. Whether you’re an old Raider like me or one of the new generation, Underworld totally rocks. It’s perhaps the most immersive adventure ever made.

Here are a few more screenshots from Underworld. For the full collection visit the Underworld section at skribblerz.com.

Skribblerz.com – 2008 Statistics

In December Skribblerz.com broke 8 or 9 records, including most unique visitors in a month (9501), most visitors in a month (18346), most pages viewed (138,520) and data transfer (140.78 Gb). Most surprising of all to me was how many folks stayed at the site for longer than half an hour during December – one thousand, nine hundred and seventy three people (1973)! We must be doing something worthwhile.

Statistics for 2008

Unique Visitors – 71660
Total Visitors – 150,332
Web Pages viewed – 1,292,955
Hits – 16,252,538

Our most popular tutorial was Bedazzled’s flash Roses which attracted 6,946 views during the year. With 10,000 unique visitors a month now visiting the site, 2009 should prove to be an interesting year. My thanks to everyone who helped to make it a success.
